Second Night Seder
Enjoy a rustic Second Night Seder in the Maine Wilderness! We will hike under a mile from the trailhead to the Baker Brook campsite in the Great Pond Mountain Wilderness in Orland, Maine.
Using the ArtScroll Family Haggadah with wilderness and environment-related inserts, we will celebrate the chag by reclining and drinking our wine/grapejuice by (conditions permitting) a campfire, with a vegetarian (not vegan) shulchan orech, and then sleep under the stars. There is an Adirondack shelter on site and we have a limited supply of tents we can loan.
In the morning, we’ll have a short (egalitarian) service, followed by a hike.
Because it is early April in Maine, equipment that has seasonally appropriate temperature ranges is highly recommended. The leader is a trained wilderness expert, but there will be limited cell service on site.
Recommended base packing list:
– AT LEAST a 20 degree sleeping bag
– closed cell or 4-season sleeping pad
– non-cotton layers, including a wind/waterproof shell
– gloves / fleece hat
